Branding Rohit Ghai's debut restaurant

Michelin starred chef Rohit Ghai and Abhishake Sangwan (both of Jamavar and Bombay Bustle fame) approached us to craft the brand for their very first solo project, Kutir.

Directly translated as ‘a small cottage in the middle of nowhere’, a Kutir was historically a base for hunters in Rajasthan, Delhi and Central India. Adorned with the region’s wildlife, hosts would challenge the chefs to produce the most innovative dishes possible.

The discovery of ‘Cassel’s Illustrated History of India’ inspired not only the logo, but all of Kutir’s print, digital and motion assets – in turn helping to transport people to a place and time befitting of Rohit’s globally revered cuisine.

Our job was to create a brand rooted in history, celebrating the wildlife and scenery deeply connected to the founders’ childhood memories.

We worked alongside photographer Stuart Milne to capture the colour, finesse and precision of Rohit Ghai’s cooking.
